#J2. Ransom and Mitchell—“A Wonderful Mess,”

What is your reaction? There very interesting and weird.  How do you think they do it? I think it's real photography mixed with cg. Which gallery was the most interesting and why? The Fine Art gallery was most interesting to me because of the ideas in some of the pictures. Which gallery was the least interesting and why? Probably the conceptual gallery under commercial because they were the least bit weird. Read the “about r&m” page? Who are they and who does what? Stacey Ransom is a digital artist/set designer and Jason Mitchell who is a director/photographer. They combine cinematic lighting with distinctive scenery and digital artistry to create what cannot exist.

#JA1-Photography Journal Assignment 1. Mobiles and The Death of Conversation

Complex task.  What happens to performance on complex tasks when a cell phone is visible? They suffered.  How does having a cell phone out remind people of a “broader social community?” "With the presence of the phone, you're wondering what those people are doing."  Does the presence of a cell phone change the performance of easy tasks? It still causes them to suffers. What did the presence of a cell phone do to the quality of social interaction in the 2012 study? Having the phone out stifled "interpersonal closeness and trust" and kept study participants from  empathy  for one another. Does the use of black and white as opposed to color add or detract from the message? Why or why not? Support your answer. It adds to the message because I was trying to imagine the photo-story with color and it wouldn't

A14. Message and Story in Photography

At this point, it is my hope that you are no longer just taking images to satisfy a class assignment, but are starting to recognize what attracts you and catches your attention when you make photographic images.  What are you thinking about when you are shooting?  What things tend to catch your attention?   I think about my frame and what is in it. Nature tends to catch my attention. Other than a class assignment, what is your point in the images that you take?  What kinds of things are happening when you think “that would make a great image?” I really like to see how I can portray an image/person through my shoots. What emotions do your most easily connect with? Sad/anxious Why is the technical part of photography important? Because you need to know your camera in order to be at the best of your abilities. How far along do you feel that you are in understanding the technical aspects of photography? Pretty far along. Do you believe that creativity can be learned?

A12. Getting Inspiration When you Feel Stuck Answers

What do you most want to learn about photography right now? I want to learn more about using different techniques while shooting. What is your passion that is NOT photographic? Well my major passion is film. How can you tie your “other passion” and photography together? They already are pretty much tied together and right now I'm doing that by being in AP Art. What idea interested you the most from the second article? Shooting without an agenda because I already like to do that and it gives you so much for freedom. What are your usual sources for inspiration? I really just go out and find inspiration while shooting. What would you assign yourself as a personal (not from me) project if time and money were no object? Practice portrait photography because I think I'm much better at landscape. What can you do with that idea given the time, money, and equipment that you currently have? I can just go out and start shooting and practicing. How much photogr

TIME Learning Log for Reflections

What was the shoot? Reflections A brief analysis of the technical skills you used and what went right and what needs improvement. It was hard sometimes to get the right angle because you might not want something in the reflection.  It was also hard to find reflective items. A brief analysis of how this shoot expresses something about you and what makes it unique to you as the photographer. Well, my favorite picture is from the Childish Gambino concert and he is my favorite person in the whole world so that definitely shows.  A brief analysis of the message and what you hoped to communicate, how successful you were at communicating it, and how are the images different from being a snapshot. I did not really have a message I wanted to communicate through these images.  A brief analysis of what you learned by doing the shoot and what new ideas you now have from doing this work. I learned more about composition in shots and how important that is by framing a shot. M=Me
